No account and no cloud profile
Typing Ink currently works without sign-up. We do not ask for a name, email address, password, or social sign-in to practice.
Your custom practice text stays in browser memory. It is not sent to our servers, advertising providers, or analytics providers.
Practice results
Typing Ink stores a minimized aggregate of completed sessions in this browser. It can include the completion time, language, input method, speed, accuracy, consistency, correction counts, active duration, and technical scoring versions. It does not store the passage, your custom text, or a keystroke stream.
When you open a saved public practice detail, the browser may request that published passage using its content revision and segment identifiers. The request does not include your score, typed text, custom text, or other saved sessions. Standard connection metadata may be logged.
When you choose a language in Settings, a first-party preference cookie remembers only that language for up to one year. It is used for automatic entry, not tracking, and is removed when you reset Typing Ink data.
Recent quote selection also keeps up to 20 completed quote identifiers per language on this device. Resetting Typing Ink data removes them.
Local history is capped at 5,000 sessions and remains until an older record is evicted, you reset Typing Ink data in Settings, or the browser removes site data. It is not copied to a Typing Ink account or cloud backup, so another device cannot recover it.
Ads, analytics, and consent
Google AdSense may show one advertisement after a completed practice session using published content. It is not loaded during typing or for custom-text results. Google Privacy & Messaging provides consent and opt-out choices; advertising requests stay paused until valid choices are available. Use Ad privacy settings on the result page to change your choice.
Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page visits and page performance. It does not receive your typed text or raw keystrokes. We exclude the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland, unknown locations, and browsers sending Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. Browser blocking and these exclusions mean visitor counts are incomplete.
Sentry receives minimized browser error reports under the same regional and browser-signal exclusions. Reports contain the error category and locations in our JavaScript files. We remove error messages, page URLs, user data and interaction breadcrumbs before sending reports. Session replay and advertising profiles are not enabled. Network connections to service providers still involve technical connection metadata.
Under those same exclusions, Cloudflare Analytics Engine records practice-ready, start, completion, and post-completion continuation-start events with only the language and practice category. These events contain no user or session identifier, text, scores, or cookies. The provider adds an event timestamp and retains data for three months. These counts measure overall activity, not individual people or a linked user journey.
Operational security logs may contain an IP address, request time, and requested route for a limited period. They must never intentionally contain typed passage content.

For privacy questions, contact support@typingink.com. Messages are forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to the operator’s Gmail inbox. We use your email address and message to respond; please do not include passwords or sensitive practice text.
Material changes will receive a new effective date and a clear notice in the product.
