Published practice passages must have a recorded source, language, edition, and rights basis. Public-domain status is checked for both the original and the displayed translation.
A familiar title is not enough: a modern translation may still be protected even when the original work is old.
Lyrics and modern writing
Modern song lyrics, poems, and fiction are not published merely because they are easy to find online. They require a direct license or another documented permission that covers this use.
Short attribution does not replace permission, and Typing Ink does not rely on a blanket ‘fair use’ label for a typing passage.
Your own text
You may practice with text you are allowed to use. It stays in the current browser memory and is not submitted to a public library, server, ad system, or analytics service.
Using private practice does not grant Typing Ink any ownership of the text.
